Today, July 14, Ascon conducted the first day of work to decommission a former agricultural water well, located in the eastern portion of the Site. This work included filling the former well with a cement mixture and using downhole charges to effectively abandon (destroy) the well. While we did not expect impacts from this work to be heard or felt offsite, we understand several of our neighbors heard and felt these charges. We apologize for surprising our neighbors and causing concern.
The one-time use of charges for this work is complete. Well decommissioning work including excavation and backfilling of the area is expected to be completed tomorrow.
