The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has requested that the Ascon team conduct Engineered Misting Containment (EMC) pilot test work at an additional location at the site. This work will take place in the northern perimeter of the Site, located near Hamilton Avenue, beginning the week of August 21st. EMC technology will be used in this location that is expected to be more odorous. During pilot testing, the Ascon team will continue to monitor air quality at the Site perimeter and at off-Site stations for dust and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During active work, odor will be monitored by dedicated personnel in the surrounding neighborhoods.
