In coordination with the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), Ascon will test two odor mitigation technologies onsite, Engineered Misting Containment (EMC) and Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE), to evaluate these methods for limiting odors during future excavation work. The results will guide odor mitigation strategies when full-scale cleanup is resumed.
On Wednesday, May 31, please join DTSC for an in-person community open house at the Huntington Beach Senior Center from 4:00 -6:00 p.m. where DTSC representatives will share information one-on-one and answer your questions on the project and upcoming work. The open house will be followed by a virtual presentation from 7:00 -8:30 p.m. via Zoom.
DTSC published the following Community Update on EnviroStor and mailed copies to a one-mile radius around the Ascon Site.
