The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has approved a site-wide odor assessment at the Ascon Landfill Site to identify areas of the Site that may have the potential to generate odor during future cleanup work at Ascon. The assessment work will begin in mid-January 2021 and the duration of the field investigation is expected up to three months. The odor assessment will identify areas of the Site that may have the potential to generate odor, collect information on odor characteristics, concentration, and identify specific compounds to provide additional technical data as part of the final evaluation of the feasibility of odor management technologies.
